This Father’s Day, Treat Him to the Kingly Gift of a Throne.

Every man is the king of his own castle, so they say.  Isn’t the throne the most important chair in a castle? Whether a man is a Stark or a Lannister, every man knows the importance of that all-important chair: the toilet. Most people want to make their father feel like a king, so give him a gift that will keep his royal visits worry-free.

Signs that a New Toilet May Be the Perfect Gift

One might scoff at the idea of a new commode being a proper gift to honor a father, but how often does he sacrifice his own comfort? Has he been putting off the purchase because the choices are too expensive? Is the commode showing signs that a replacement is needed?

  • Water constantly running
  • Clogs easily
  • Low flush power
  • Wobbling

All these could point to a need for a new toilet.

A Plethora of Royal Choices

Though the water closet is an age-old invention, the world of waste disposal has seen many advances in technology. There is a toilet to meet almost any need varying in everything from flush mechanism to height of the bowl.

  • Dual Flush: This type of toilet has two different buttons to push, one for a “half flush” and one for a “full flush.” These are an excellent way to save water.
  • Pressure-Assisted Flush: The mechanism behind these powerful flushers is loud and proud but is a highly efficient flush that helps prevent clogging.
  • Eco-friendly Toilet: This choice is the pinnacle of water conservation, using only a little more than one and a half gallons of water per highly efficient flush.

There are also many more options to choose from in the areas of colour, style, and bowl size. Customers are sure to find accommodation much more comfortable than an iron throne.

Measure First and Buy Second

measureIt is essential to do one’s due diligence before purchasing a new toilet. Measure the space where the toilet is going to be, or measure the current toilet. Size does matter when it comes to finding the right commode for space. Several aspects of the toilet’s size need to be considered when purchasing a new one. The three significant aspects are the height of the bowl, bowl shape, and tank size.

The height of the commode typically comes in three different sizes: Chair Height (approx 18”), Standard Height (15”), and Juvenile Height (approx. 12”). Knowing the man of the house and his specific needs and those of other family members can help guide the decision about this.

Bowl shape also comes in three: Round, Compact Elongated, and Elongated. As one might assume, the round is the smallest of the three and is best used in small bathrooms. The elongated bowl provides a slightly more elegant silhouette but adds two inches and is likely not a good choice for a smaller bathroom.

Tank sizes vary according to the type of flush and elements of design. While sizes are pretty standard, it is best to measure and verify what can fit into space.
